David's Kiss
Published in Hardcover by Binnacle Pub Group (May, 1999)
Average review score:

peerfect book for bedtime readingThis wonderful little book has been a perfect bedtime reading book for me and my two boys. As a busy working mother, there is nothing I wanted more than for them to feel and know how I love them, and this book makes a kiss so magically lasting and true, that no child could fail to understand how his mom's love will last and last. It's as good as "Good Night Moon." Even non-demonstrative boys "get it".

The Demon and the Warlock
Published in Paperback by University Editions (March, 1994)
Average review score:

This is a very Lovecraftian tale. While the setting of the book starts off feeling like a juvenile fiction novel, it quickly spawns into a Lovecraftian epic. The almost absent-minded violence of the demon creates an excellent counterpoint to the desperation of the protagonists. This book is not for the faint-hearted!

The Digital Effect
Published in Paperback by Ace Books (May, 1997)
Average review score:

Not Just Another Sam Spade in Space...M. Gil Sivart, the protagonist in The Digital Effect, is a sensitive yet tough ex-engineer turned micro-carbon-sculptor -- a hard-boiled detective with a Zen attitude. The action begins when M. Sivart is presented with an investigation of a suicide that smells more of murder. The reader is lead on a fast paced tour of the scene of the crime and it's limited surrounds on the Robert E. Lee, one of the Wheelworlds in orbit around late 21st century Earth. Possible suspects are examined and clues revealed with a bit of assistance from Ray El-Sayed, a sympathetic station police investigator who has been officially warned off the case, and from the victim's significant other -- an exotic dancer with a most interesting love of her work. Additional assistance, and a humorous subplot are provided by Base Alicante, a doctor whose attraction to Gil Sivart is over ruled by his desire to make his young male lover jealous and more amorous.
In this late 21st century setting, there are no tough challenges of learning heavy duty scientific or sociological concepts as the author has skillfully created a convincing backdrop for his story in plausible extensions forward of today's technologies. Fans of Steve Perry's SPINDOC and THE FOREVER DRUG novels -- or his MATADOR series -- will not be disappointed. And newcomers will find this a satisfying blend of the Mystery and Science Fiction genres. (EAG

Lots of FunI just read a great book called Horse Heroes by Kate Petty. I liked it because the stories were true and exciting and the pictures in the book were really neat. I think that young kids who like horses would like this book.

The Doctors Book of Home Remedies for Children
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Bantam Books (February, 1995)
Average review score:

A Great Gift for New ParentsI've given copies of this book to all my relatives and many friends after their babies were born. The title is a bit misleading ... it's much more than home remedies and is not intended as a substitute for pediatricians. This well-organized book covers a broad range of potential concerns (from colds, behavior problems, discipline techniques, rashes, ticks, and allergies to more serious diseases) and ages (babies to teens), offering information that is easily understandable yet fairly comprehensive and to the point. It can help parents understand what's "normal" and specifies when a visit to a doctor is imperative/advisable. It's useful as a reference, allowing a parent to review the child's symptoms before a visit to the doctor and perhaps ask "better" questions (or provide "better" information) during the examination.

A Dress for Mona
Published in Paperback by 5th Epoch Press (September, 2002)
Average review score:

An emotionally wrenching dramaA Dress For Mona is a powerful play by Mark Perry and based upon a true historical account. A Dress For Mona is set in 1982 Iran when the Bahai (an offshoot of Islam and the largest religious minority within Iran) were subjected to brutal prosecution, imprisonment, and even murder. Young Mona is a Bahai believer, and thus a primary target for arrest and execution. Her vision of three dresses, each representing a different direction possible for her life, and her difficult choices between faith and sacrifice are vividly presented in this gripping human account, in many ways a modern-day mirror of the fanaticism portrayed in another great classic, "The Crucible". A Dress For Mona is an absorbing, thought-provoking, and at times emotionally wrenching drama which highly recommended for either personal readings or community theater productions.

The Evergreen Wood
Published in Hardcover by Thomas Nelson (August, 1992)

Nice StoryVery nicely illustrated. You can tell that this is a re-telling of Pilgrims Progress but thankfully it's not over-worked as such. Instead of being heavily loaded with allegory, it is a delightful story for children. I loved it.
